Krishna Govinda Govinda Gopala, Krishna Murali Mano Hara Nandalala

Transliteration:

kṛṣhṇa govinda govinda gopāla, kṛṣhṇa muralī mano hara nandalālā

kṛṣhṇa: An avatar, or incarnation, of Vishnu, the preserver of the universe. He is the supreme being, the Atman, the inner soul, and is known for His radiant beauty, playful qualities, and transcendent flute playing.

govinda: A name for the youthful Krishna. Literally, the lord of the cows ("go").

gopāla: A name for the divine baby Krishna. Literally, shepherd of the cows ("go").

muralī: Flute. Here meaning "the one who plays the flute," a name for Krishna.

mano hara: Stealer of the mind ("mana").

nandalālā: Child of Nanda. Nanda is Krishna's adoptive father, husband to Yashoda.
